Lyrics of a Memory
Holding on to the lyrics of a song
Grasping the words, singing along
I hear your story but picture mine
Hear your words, they intertwine.
Different meanings, different voices
Same lyrics but different choices
Memories collect in my head
Like a virus, all they do is spread.
As I listen, my perception changes
The memory I kept, it rearranges
Still your face, body, and soul
Different situations that I control.
Pause, rewind, collect my thoughts
Forgetting your face is a long shot
To the next song I say hello
The memories start to overflow
The song changes and so do I
To the last song I say goodbye
Memories trapped in a web
Forever sitting in my head.
